10 Key Things You Need To Know 

 

1. MONDAY 27th JULY: New address for Assay Office Birmingham

2. CUSTOMER SERVICES OPENING HOURS & PROCEDURES

Our new Customer Services Reception is on Moreton Street. It provides customers wishing to drop off items for all departments with a friendly, secure service, including a private booth if required for security purposes.

Customer Services opening hours remain:

Monday to Thursday: 08:30 - 16:00

Friday: 08:30 - 13:00

 

3. CUSTOMER PARKING

There is currently free parking on Moreton Street and Pope Street. To avoid a fine please ensure you do not inadvertently park in a Permit Holders space unless you have a permit.

 

4. HIGH VALUE: GOODS IN

For those with high value or bulky goods we have a secure, one-way ‘drive-through’ accessible from Moreton Street. For security reasons only one vehicle will be allowed through  at a time. There is an on-street intercom, positioned adjacent to the Customer Services entrance.

If you would like to register to use the ‘drive-through’, please send an email to gem@theassayoffice.co.uk with the following details to secure access when you visit :

Company; Contact name; Driver’s name; Vehicle registration

 

5. SUBMITTING WORK: PO BOXES

You can continue to use both of the PO Boxes stated below; all deliveries will be  transferred to our new premises from Monday 27th July:

PO BOX 151, B3 1SB – NO CHANGE

PO BOX 8706,  B3 1FH  (SAFEGUARD ONLY) – NO CHANGE

 

6. SUBMITTING WORK: DEPARTMENT NAMES

A submission form or assay note will be required with all work submitted, and in the interests of security, work will not be released over the counter without the corresponding pink copy.

 

7. SUBMITTING WORK: LABELLING PARCELS

Please mark parcels clearly for the correct department to avoid delays. Remember to include relevant paperwork and clear instructions.
