The next Understanding Hallmarking training course takes place onÂ Tuesday 19th August, and there are still a few places left. It is also one of the last courses to take place in the historic building before Assay Office Birmingham moves into new premises in 2015.
The Assay Office Experience
This half-day event provides a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Hallmarking floor, which is not open to the general publicÂ and visit theÂ historic surroundings ofÂ Assay Office Birmingham for one of the last times ahead of our new building opening next year.
During a special guided tour, you will see how Hallmarks are applied to precious metal items and jewellery and have the chance to âhave a goâ at Hallmarking. The event is ideal for those working in the jewellery or precious metal trades, collectors, and members of the public who would like to learn more about Hallmarking, including the history of Hallmarking in the UK and current legislation.Â The event provides three hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity.
