REGISTER ONLINE

The  simple process to buy online has four key steps split into TWO  sections:

1. Pay Registration Fee;   Registration Form;
2. Pay for Punch; Select Sponsor Mark

1. Pay Registration Fee

The standard Registration fee set by the British Hallmarking Council is £60.00 + VAT. Your registration is specifically with Assay Office Birmingham. It will last for a 10 year period. Re registration is currently £30 +VAT.

Once you have paid the Registration Fee the Registration Form will appear.  If you wish to view the form prior to payment or prefer to complete the transaction in person or by post you can download the ‘Registration Form’ here.

2. Pay for your Punch

Your punch carries your unique sponsor mark which provides traceability as your initials, set in a shape unique to you, or logo are a compulsory part of every hallmark struck.

Pay for your punch, £70 for two initials or £80 for three initials, on the online form. 

Once you have paid for your punch online you can select from the standard outline you would prefer for your unique sponsor mark. Please give three choices in order of preference in case the first choices are not available. If you wish to view the form prior to payment or prefer to complete the transaction in person or by post you can download the Sponsor Mark and Punch Order Form here. On receipt of the form we will review your options and contact you if your preferences are not available, to find you the nearest alternative.

To make your payment and select Sponsor Mark Form:

Recent changes to the law allow trademarks to be used as an alternative to sponsor marks. Trade mark and variations from the standard shapes are also available and will attract an additional charge and cannot be ordered online.

A  Laser Sponsor Mark is also available at an additional cost for products which are too delicate or complicated to withstand traditional punch marking. This will require the additional set up of laser artwork for your sponsor mark at a cost of £50. A physical punch will still be a mandatory requirement.

Once you are registered you are ready to submit your work to Assay Office Birmingham for assaying and hallmarking.
