Preparation & Administration
Receiving postal and counter orders into the department, opening parcels, checking items submitted, interpreting hallmarking requirements, contacting customers to discuss anomalies if required and creating internal works orders for production, liaising with customer service staff and customers to progress work through the department to meet agreed service levels or to respond to queries, updating notes and staff/customers accordingly,completing post hallmarking checks and processes including weight checks, invoice generation, processing payments, packing parcels for despatch and processing through courier or postal systems as required.
Following defined procedure carry out testing on submitted items to determine the standard,use the correct equipment, working to agreed standards to deliver the required output levels.
Equipment/tasks will include;
Correctly interpreting instructions and applying marks to the required quality and output levels using a range of equipment
Operators are responsible for the quality of their output and must carry out all production operations adhering to approved processes and work instructions as specified by Birmingham Office Assay, the quality standards of ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and any other applicable legislation. Full training will be provided – operatives must meet and maintain a high level of competency in each aspect of the role.
