Main Purpose of Job:
To provide production resource to the Laser marking department at Birmingham Assay Office
Main Duties of Job:
This is a production role providing flexible resource and capacity to the Hallmarking Division of Birmingham Assay Office.
The role will primarily be based in the laser marking department where full training will be provided. Once trained, operators are expected to consistently meet the quality and volume outputs required.
Creating and accessing hallmarking working files
Operating a range of laser marking equipment to apply hallmarks and or non-statutory marks (logos, numbering, personalization) in accordance with customer instructions and internal working documents
Due to the variable nature of the workload, the role may also be required to flex across the operational areas listed below.
Interpreting customer instructions to generate internal works instructions
Completing post hallmarking checks
Packing parcels for despatch
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Must be dexterous able to handle intricate or small jewellery items confidently
Able to pick up practical skills competently and quickly
Confident IT user; willing and able to learn new applications
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Customer service driven
