Main Purpose of Job:
Working with a variety of samples in order to analyse, interpret data and produce analytical reports by various Techniques

Main Duties of Job:
- Gold and silver analysis, including weighing the samples, carrying out operational procedures of potentiometric Titration, cupellation and acid parting, calculating the results and producing a report
- Operating the XRF machine in order to analyse a variety of samples including precious metal content and plating thickness determination
- Schedules and oversees the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments, apparatus, or testing devices
- Explains work instructions and adapts methods and procedures in order to meet the needs of the department
- Determination of elements by ICP-OES and interpreting and checking data and reporting scientific results
- Preparing sample solutions and chemicals
- Following methods of analysis for testing of samples to Reach other regulatory and in house compliance
- Washing of glassware will be required an adhoc basis amongst the laboratory team
- Liaising with internal and external Customers on technical, ‘due diligence’ and testing issues
- Assisting in the research and development of new processes, thereby increasing our range of testing on offer
- Ensure adherence and maintenance of all ISO accreditation
- With appropriate assistance and support be able to carry out all lab methods

Person Specification:
- BSC in Chemistry ( or equivalent )
- Works on own initiative
- Flexible – this role will be reactive at times
- Starter/Finisher – gets the job done
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office in particular Outlook, Word and Excel
- Dexterous , practical and have an awareness and understanding of general Lab practices
